Matthew H. Paden, D.P.M. Dr. Matt Paden earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and completed 2 years of graduate work in anatomy at the University of Maryland. While at Maryland he competed on the track and field team: He graduated with honors in 1991 from the California College or Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. In 1993 he completed his podiatric surgery residency at Vencor Hospital (now the Highlands P/SL residency program), then completed a Diabetic Foot Fellowship in San Francisco in 1994. He has been practicing in his home state of Colorado since 1994, and is board certified in both foot surgery, and rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Since 2004 Dr. Paden has been the residency director for the Highlands P/SL residency program. The residency is considered among the top in the country, with two valedictorians of the eight podiatric medical schools accepting positions to begin their training this July. Matt's passions include skiing, technical climbing, and mountain climbing. He expects to complete his final fourteener this summer. |

Barbara Paden, D.P.M. Dr. Barbara Paden is a San Diego native. She has a B.S and M.S. degree front UCLA in Kinesiology. While at UCLA site was the starting right fielder on the 1982 and 1984 NCAA championship teams, and was named second team academic All-American in 1984. In 1991 she graduated with honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine, and completed her three year residency training in 1991 at Kaiser-Walnut Creek. She has been practicing in the Denver area since 1991. Barbara is board certified in foot surgery and has extensive experience in the treatment of the child's foot. Since the adoption of Matt and Barbara's son Hunter from Russia in 2004, she has focused primarily on outpatient conservative and surgical podiatry. Her outside interests include running, hiking, and chasing 4 year old Hunter. She is training to complete her first Marathon in San Diego June 1st. |

Brett D. Sachs, D.P.M. Dr. Sachs joined the Rocky Mountain loot and Ankle Center in 2005 following the retirement of Dr. Gary Fisher. Brett is a Maryland native and graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He graduated Front the Temple University School or Podiatric Medicine with, honors, and then completed his podiatric surgical residency at highland's P/SL in Denver in 2001. He remains active in the residency program since his graduation. He was named X-ray conference director in 2004. His particular areas of interest are in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. Dr. Sachs is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He enjoys skiing, golf, mountain biking, and hiking. |
