"Hi, my name is Dr. Matthew Paden, and I’d like to talk to you about one of the most common problems that we see in our office, which is heel pain. Of all of the different things that can cause heel pain, by far the most common is a condition called plantar fasciitis.
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation and pain of a ligament on the bottom of your foot. This ligament spans from the heel all the way up to the base of the toes. Usually, the pain occurs right at the base of the heel bone. This often starts after increased activity, or can come on randomly. This problem becomes a very chronic, painful, debilitating problem that can be treated. You do not need to live with this condition.
At our office, we provide a variety of treatments and tailor the treatment program to each individual patient. These treatments often include custom orthotics, which are arch supports made specifically for your foot, to help stop the injury process. Sometimes we use corticosteroid injections to decrease the inflammation and the pain. Often, we use the resources of physical therapy and other devices to provide relief of your pain.
You do not need to live with this chronic heel pain. Thank you."
