He has extensive training and experience in reconstructive and trauma surgery, as well as elective surgery, general podiatric medicine, and diabetic foot care. 

Dr. Kruse studied chemistry, sports medicine, and bioethics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland before earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kruse served his residency at Highlands/Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, where he specialized in foot and ankle surgery and was chief resident. He's board-certified in both foot surgery and rearfoot/reconstructive surgery. He’s a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. 

Besides his practice, Dr. Kruse maintains an active role in research and academics as the research director and a member of the Residency Committee of the Highlands/Presbyterian St. Luke’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program. In his spare time, Dr. Kruse maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys cycling, hiking, climbing, skiing, and most other outdoor activities.
